15Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the Philistines took vengeance and avenged themselves with treachery in nephesh to destroy the eternal enemy.16Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am stretching out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant of the coast of the sea.17And I will execute great vengeances upon them with rebukes of wrath, and they will know that I am the LORD when I lay my vengeance upon them.
